Description

We are pleased to offer this 1978 Porsche 911sc sunroof coupe finished in Grand Prix White with a black interior. This 911 is a little unusual in that it is a 49 state U.S. spec car but was delivered new in Brussels Belgium with vehicle manuals printed in French. Along with the original purchaser’s name written in the manual, are the chassis and engine numbers, confirming this is a numbers matching car. Its tool kit is still with it as well. The car has had a prior repaint which overall is holding up very well. There are some small touched up stone chips but the car still remains very presentable. Porsches of this year had galvanized body panels and as is usual with these, there are no issues with body rust. All of the glass is in good shape. The front seats are leather and in generally good shape. There is some wear to the bead at the edge of the driver’s side seat bolster. There is small ½ inch long nick or cut on the driver seat bottom and a similar blemish on the passenger seat bottom, but of the type that can be repaired. The carpets are all in good order and the rear seat upholstery is good without any nicks or tears. There is a small tear in the headliner next to the hanger hook but the headliner is otherwise very presentable overall. The electric sunroof opens, closes, and seals as it should. The dash is free of any cracks or splits. The car has had a recent oil and filter change and transmission oil change. It also has new heat exchangers. It starts easily and idles smoothly. The engine pulls strongly right up to the red line. It has all new bushings in the shift linkage and shifts well with good synchromesh in all gears. The optional 16” Fuchs wheels have new tires. Like many older Porsches, it does have a few oil leaks and will leave a couple inch or two spots after it sets for a few days. The car has all of its factory air conditioning components in place but is in need of a refrigerant charge. This 911 is an honest driver and while not perfect, neither is it stratospherically priced as are many. We believe this car will make someone a very nice and reliable driver offering a high ratio of enjoyment per dollar and the prospect of a good long term collector car investment. We can assist with arranging transport to anywhere in the U.S. or Europe.
